Marco Körner

Biography

Marco Körner is a computer scientist with expertise in computer vision and machine learning. During his doctorate, he was involved in several
methodological and application-oriented research projects, e.g., with connections to bio-medical image processing, automotive computer vision, or document analysis.
In 2014, he became the deputy head of the Chair of Remote Sensing Technology at Technical University of Munich (TUM) to form and lead the Computer Vision
Research Group, which mission is to apply existing and develop innovative CV and ML concepts for tackling problems from Remote Sensing and Earth Observation. Here, he is particularly interested in the exploitation of the inherent multi-temporal, multi-scalar, and multi-temporal properties of RS data. A special focus of his research group is in Deep Learning, particularly employing complex and recurrent architectures.
